SpaceWeather.com uses the Priority-Voice broadcast service to send solar and astronomy alerts to subscribers around the world, as well as to astronauts in outer-space. Voice broadcasting is an excellent way to distribute important messages or alerts to those people who need-to-know.

They asked ADR to provide a fully automated broadcast service that would notify subscribers of various solar events, including solar flares, sunspots and geomagnetic radiation storms. In addition, they wanted to send “Backyard Astronomy Alerts” and International Space Station fly-over alerts to schools and other astronomy enthusiasts.

ADR provided the mechanism to relay pre-recorded messages to selected subscribers using our fully automated Priority-Voice broadcast service. The customer’s computer system processes data collected by SOHO earth orbiting satellites. When a solar event is detected, the SpaceWeather.com system automatically sends ADR the names and phone or cell numbers of the people that need to be notified of the event, and our system sends the message.
